We aim to connect all book readers around the world and make it simple for them to share books while helping the environment.
How did the journey begin:
Let me introduce myself first. My name is Komal, living in Delhi-NCR. I love to read…have read a lot of non-fiction and enjoy reading fiction and fantasy as time permits.
I am someone who becomes happy with the sight and smell of books. I love being among the books.
My idea of perfect vacation is going somewhere away from the city and read my favorite books without being bothered by anything. Just like all the other book-readers out there, my to-read list is way bigger than what my home could possibly hold.
So, I came up with the idea of sharing books with book lovers staying nearby.
The idea of connecting with other book lovers, having great conversations, and making new friends over shared stories made my heart happy.
Instead of buying new books each time, I imagined a community where we could borrow, lend, sell, or donate our beloved books.
Imagine the joy of reading a treasured book from a neighbor or passing on your favorite novel to someone who’d cherish it just as much. And in doing so, we’d contribute to a greener planet by reducing the need for new books and saving trees.
Along with being an avid book reader, I am also a techie. That means I knew how to bring my imagination to life. I teamed up with my sister Shweta and a friend Himanshu, a brilliant developers. Together, we embarked on a journey to create a global hub where book lovers can share, connect, and converse.
And this is how, LibraryoftheWorld was born—a place where you can share your books, discover new reads, and engage in lively discussions with fellow book enthusiasts.
